"Fascinated by occultism, Kayl Kartan nurtures the secret ambition of modeling the mind the way his fellow Technomancers model the body. In the course of his numerous researches, he has discovered and then looted the burial ground of a being which, according to legend, had the power to influence the minds. After several months of hazardous experiments, Kayl Kartan succeeded in finding the way to awaken the ancient power and turn it to his profit"

The Kayl Kartan figurine comes in three pieces as shown in the photograph, a main body with separate head and weapon appendages. The pieces join together well using integral pegs and sockets with only a little fine adjustment for fit. The casting is clean with only a fine line showing where the mould halves met and a small amount of excess metal on the left foot that appears to be slight mould damage. The detail of sculpting is very good, in particular hanging from the belt of the figurine are beautifully sculpted tools of his trade as one of the Technomancers of Dirz. The asymmetric dorsal appendages lend a lot of character to the figurine, complimenting the slightly hunched and withdrawn pose, with the Skull of Souls held possessively close to his body. The neck is a little odd, holding the head down and forwards of the shoulders. I think this is to give the character a withdrawn appearance but it doesn't 'feel right' when assembling the figurine.
The pack includes the character card, three spell cards, the skull of souls item card and counters, plus the Incantation rulebook. The character card has a photograph of a painted miniature for those who need a guide, (but the one on the Rackham-Store site is a better rendition).
"Skillfully combining Magic and technomancy, the Dirz Alchemist created a series of modules capable of picking up fragmentary brainwaves and modifying their frequencies. The many receivers adorning the Technomancer's forehead allow him to channel the Skull of Souls' power for better or especially worse"

Positive: Superbly sculpted, the detail making painting a breeze.
Negative: The head appears to be slightly un-natural on a long neck hunched forward.
Value: Pretty good, although there is the associated premium for a 'character' figure.
