...and that's just what it says on the back of the box!
Each of the five miniatures is distinctly different, no re-use of any generic sculpting that other companies are prone to. As can be seen from the box cover picture, the sculpture is very dynamic with exquisite detail on each figure. The poses are achieved by having the hands and weapon of each sentinel as a separate piece, and although there is not flexibility of positioning it isn't needed. Reference to the picture is required to match hands to bodies because the weapons are cast as two pairs on a sprue.
Thissan Ka, the squad leader stands with his foot resting on the torso of a skeleton, his sword arm and shield are on a separate sprue.
The castings are very clean and precise with virtually no evidence of a mould line and no flash what-so-ever. A bit of trimming of vents is all that's required to get them ready to paint.
The box also contains colour reference cards for the warriors for use in Rackhams' 'Confrontation' skirmish game as well as two cards for special rules and equipment, plus a sheet of counters.
As with each box set or blister pack produced by Rackham the full rules for the game are included in the booklet.
Rackham have forged a reputation for excellence in their products and this box set of figures certainly pays tribute to their efforts. Outstanding.
Positive: absolutely superb production quality and excellent dynamic yet coherent poses.
Negative: erm. Nothing, apart from Rackham not having an English website.
Value: At less than £4 each for such high quality figurines including a 'special character' this box is fantastic value.
