Michael Brooks of Ainsty Castings has spent many years forging a reputation for being one of the most innovative designers in the business. His huge catalogue of 28mm scenery items and accessories has no equal - certainly in terms of the sheer number of different lines - and knows no bounds. It's not just that the range is diverse - its simply that Mr Brooks and co seem able to conjure up models that no one else would even think of. Take this Billboard for example!
The model measures 90 x 60 x 85mm and is cast (in a single piece) in grey resin. Much of the structure is designed to depict wooden planking and other supporting beams. The grain of this material is scored into each strip of wood - which is sure to please the dry-brush fraternity - and makes painting a doddle.
The front fascia of the board is approximately 80 x 60mm - which is just about the right size on which to paste a Polaroid of your girlfriend, wife or cat - if you so please - or any other homemade poster of your choosing. The fact is, this piece can be decorated to fit in with any scenario - from seedy, 1930s New York - to the even seedier remnants of a post apocalyptic shanty town. Better still - if your club secretary keeps telling you there's only a small advertising budget available, stick your logo on the billboard next time you go to a show and everyone will know who you are! What ever you choose, this single model will add bags of atmosphere to your gaming.
Plus: A simple but effective addition to the scenery collection.
