I have put pen to paper or is it fingers to keyboard before, in praise of Metcalfe kits and I make no apology for going there again.
I am building a new layout, and so, I am able to use new kits.
The authenticity of the kit is superb it could be anywhere in the UK. The architecture of the building lends itself to fitting into any era of steam or diesel.
This Kit can be used in different configurations and with other kits in the same range.
The kit comes in pre-cut card sheets with detailed instructions. Printed in full colour they can go straight on to your layout. The card has a flat surface but this is more than compensated by the detail.
The scale is 00/1:4/1:76 and is spot on.
The builngs can be modified easily to suit your requirements. But be warned don't decide on an modification to late in the build, because the inner contruction makes it allmost impossible to take to pieces without causing damage.
These Kits are strong and durable and ideal for someone who does not want to scratch build, but likes to customise to provide that invidual touch to ntheir layout.
This kit is one of the most expensive at £12.50. A great price in todays ever rising modelling costs.
Highly recommended.
